Dana over at Broke-Ass Bride did a huge giveaway last month and asked if I would design a logo for her contest. This is what I came up with! It’s very retro-fab if I do say so myself.

Elizabeth and Nathan are having a wintry New Year’s wedding with a classic, chic color scheme of black, white, and silver. I created her invites in the same way I did my own- a three layer mounted style that adds an extra bit of dimension that just looks so nice. For the middle layer of her invites we chose a metallic silver paper stock that added a little sparkle to the invites. I really love how these turned out and hope that Elizabeth does too!

She chose a silver metallic envelope with snowflakes on it that is just going to work beautifully with the suite! Congrats on your upcoming marriage, Elizabeth and thanks for working with me!!

I recently collaborated with Rosh of Studio Nine Events on a logo and identity design for her wedding planning and event business. I love the hot pop of pink against the dark pattern. In addition to the logo, I designed business cards and thank you cards that feature the same hot pink on the inside of the cards- it’s all about impacting your clients with your brand! Thanks for working with me, Rosh!

I’ve been doing lots of simple wedding programs lately. Though these are just simply one folded sheet, they make a big impact to your guests. I can do just the design for you to print and fold yourself, or I can do full design and print production. I can also do more custom and complicated designs if that’s what you’re looking for!

I just finished a wedding invitation job for the lovely Amanda and I forgot to take a photo of the final product, but I thought I would share the digital file with y’all. They were printed on an ivory stock which really looked nice with the fall color scheme. Thanks so much for working with me Amanda!
Kat came to me asking if I could create an iconic image to include as part of her logo for her photography business, Persimmon Images. Honestly, I had never even seen a persimmon before she asked me to do this! So I did some googling and found that it pretty much looked like a tomato… but there was one thing that stood out to me about this peculiar fruit… it’s interesting seed pattern. So that’s what I went after when I made this icon.

She pretty much already had a type treatment in mind for the logo, and I think the two work together quite nicely.

It was fun collaborating with Kat! Go check out her blog- her work is fabulous. I love how she incorporated the icon in so many ways on her blog. In the logo, the favicon, next to every post, and in the watermark.

Check the watermark:

Fab, no?
Thanks Kat for working with me!

Being a type geek and completely obsessed with letters, I totally swooned when I saw this necklace over on Ponoko.com.
I don’t really understand Ponoko so far, but I am very intrigued. Apparently it’s kind of like the Alchemy feature on Etsy. You tell them your idea, what you want made and even the design of it, and then they magically make it happen and put in bids for how much it would cost. Seems pretty amazing and I am highly interested in finding out more about this community! In the meantime, I’m browsing their shops for more inspiring finds…
I designed the book cover for Faith, Hope & Cancer by Carol Westfahl back in 2005 when I was just a student in graphic design. Recently Carol asked to do a corresponding cover for the audio book, so I thought I’d share that with you here, now that I’ve gotten a copy!
Carol is my grandma so this was a really special project to me. I was so proud to do a book cover for an actual book that has been published and is sold in bookstores! And even more proud to help out my grandmother at the same time! The book is about dealing with cancer whether you’re a sufferer, survivor, or a friend or family member of someone who is. It’s her personal journey through diagnosis and remission- twice!- and the power that God had in healing her and bringing her peace during that difficult time. She’s a strong woman and I am so proud of her.
You can buy the book on the website for Faith, Hope & Cancer and they will be adding the audiobook for ordering as well sometime in the future.

Have you heard of 500 Pencils? It’s a subscription based company that will send you 25 colored pencils a month until you have all 500 unique hues in their collection. It ain’t cheap, but jeez loo-eez… look at how beautiful this display is. *swoon*
It’s safe to say that I might have a tiny bit of OCD. I enjoy organizing lots of my things by color… my Sharpies… Colored Pencils, the clothes in my closet, papers… etc. So THIS… this would just be an afternoon of fun for me.
This was a fun exercise for me. I just wanted a reason to be creative so I gave myself a challenge, come up with pieces based on some of my favorite bible verses. I really enjoyed doing something just for fun, just for me, just because. I like the way they turned out- I think they’d make great art prints or cards.
